The temperatures have dropped. That was one intense wrap-up of June.
Little ones in our morning program, M-Sat, chugged their water bottles and inhaled the wetter snacks parents sent for their young adventurer. We found refuge in the shadowy places. The Secret Garden, (best hide and seek anywhere!) The route to the mill pond past the disk-golf course. Along the CIA trails, home of the Bog Beast and, of course, the fairgrounds, every kid's idea of wonderful. We've snacked, told stories and overcame the tender moments of learning how to take careful aim in the bushes (and, occasionally having your pants changed en-route.) This crew is prepping as Adventure Kids. And they're little!
In addition to mornings we are again offering afternoon sessions through July, Monday-Friday from 1-4. Drop off and pickup is at the Wolf Den in Dalton City. The price remains the same, $25 per session. Kids must have adequate water and a packable afternoon snack. Good tread, curiosity and walking ability desired. We'll help them gain stamina and learn how to be trail buddies for one another.
The Farmer's Market is a fine, fine time. Food, beverages, craft and community, both at the pavilion and in the playground. The Wolf Den is open Saturdays from 9-1. Arrange kid care with Ms. Ade for that, 767-5639, or, drop by the Den ~ 766 -2993. The couch is also comfy and wifi's good.
We are going to be open for the SEAK Fair from 9-4 ~ July 26, 27, 28. We're hoping for a few intrepids who might want chum together. Families can arrange either one $50 session 9-4 or for half sessions @ $25 ~ 9-1 or 1-4. We're planning drop-by craft tables along the board walk and toddler/kiddo explores of fair happenings with an adult. Others are welcome to use the Den for needed downtime as well.
The Wolf Den will be on break from July 29 through Aug 10th. The Bochart's oldest Adventure Kid, Micah Rudy is coming home for a two week visit after the fair. There's a few classic family hikes being discussed. We'll share after, promise.
